EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

KEEPING SAFE

By Kate Minogue

Fire: 190

Ambulance: 191

Police: 193

We would strongly suggest that as an English speaking expat, you carry the emergency number of the clinic you are registered with in Libya.  In an emergency situation, help may be quicker in reaching you if you are able to speak freely in English.

Another helpful tip, would be for you to find out what the GPS co-ordinates are for your house in the event of an emergency.  As there are no residential addresses, directing an Ambulance to your home will be quicker if you are able to provide these details.

If you are travelling within Libya, it would be wise to carry the contact numbers of a local hospital.  We would also recommend that you carry plenty of water and snacks with you on trips into the desert.
